WELCOME TO ONE HEALTH CARE
‘One Health” is an idea conceptualized by Dr Shashikant Rajaram Shinde. A Medical graduate from Mumbai University, Dr Shashikant has been practicing as a General Practitioner since 2000 in one of the most backward areas near Thane. After practicing for some period and to expand his horizon in the health sector, he pursued his Maters in Social Work (MSW) from the prestigious, Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS)-Mumbai with Health and Development as his concentration.
During his PG, Dr Shashikant completed his research on the subject “Medical Malpractices as perceived by Medical Practitioners”. In course of the research, Dr Shashikant witnessed many negatives of the health sector in India and the helplessness of the current stakeholders of the system. This was an inspiration for him to apply his medical and social knowledge to try and address the concerning issues
From then on a pursuit began to find out ways and means to design a health concept which can address the shortcomings of the current Healthcare System. The efforts firstly zeroed in on Health Insurance as one of the means. In order to get an indepth view of the sector, Dr Shashikant pursued his Post Graduate Diploma in Health Insurance (PGDHI) from Insurance Institute of India (III), Mumbai.
A glimpse of the sector opened up some new areas of work. Dr Shashikant started his work as a freelancer Investigator. He joined Star Health and Allied Insurance company limited and has been on there panel since 2013. His hard work paid him and he was appointed as Indepth Investigator by the company within 6 months of his joining. Since then he has been on there panel as an Investigator.
He has been awarded with the Best Performer of the Year-2015-16, which is the first such award initiated by the Insurance Company. He has cracked many critical cases and has been retained by the company inspite of the fact that the company is in the process of closing down on all the external investigators
In pursuit of accepting new challenges in the Health Investigation field, Dr. Shashikant in view of channelizing his efforts, has started ONE HEALTH as an organization in the investigation field. His efforts and hard work has paid him well and in a short span the organization has been appointed as Investigator by Insurers such as Chola Mandalam, and HDFC-ERGO and also by FHPL-TPA
